Lost Loop
A short loop from Greenland through West Fork and back on Campbell Road, where the seemingly endless Lost Loop rollers give the route its local name.
About Lost Loop
Lost Loop got its name when a beloved local got dropped and lost along the route one evening.
The route heads south on Scenic Highway 71 before turning west on AR-170 in West Fork. Campbell Road then points north and delivers the feature that gives the loop its reputation: one roller after another, with each down seeming to lead directly into the next up.
After cresting out at Greenland, the route turns east and drops quickly back toward 71.
Short, simple and deceptively hard, it is a local favorite when you want the hills without the mileage.
Notes
- Refueling: There's a store stop in Greenland at the I-49 interchange and another on Highway 71 just before the start of the core loop.
- Lost & Found: Note the shortcut option to ride back into Greenland on the "Found Loop" approach which heads east before crossing I-49.
- Low-water bridge: Another option is to use the low-water bridge that connects 71 to Campbell Road to bypass West Fork.
