Jackson Highway
A demanding former Arkansas state championship course using Jackson Highway and Wedington Blacktop, with two major climbs and plenty of rolling terrain.
About Jackson Highway
Jackson Highway is a former Arkansas State Road Race Championship course built around the roads just north of Lincoln.
The loop heads north on Jackson Highway and includes a challenging climb up and out from the lowlands near Lake Lincoln. The return on Wedington Blacktop (also used in the NWA Spring Classic Road Race in the opposite direction) finishes with a steady climb out of the Moores Creek drainage area and onto higher farm country before reaching the Lincoln area.
Today, Jackson Highway also works as a useful alternate to Wedington Blacktop for riders heading between Highway 16 and Lincoln, but the old race course remains a tough, memorable loop in its own
Notes
- Refueling: There are no stops on the core loop, but there's a gas station in Lincoln if you head south a few blocks on Jackson Highway to the intersection of Hwy 62.
- Highway 16: Use caution on the section of Highway 16.
- Descending: Use caution descending the hills, especially when riding the course in reverse as both roads are curvy and there's little room for error.
