Town & Country
Hunstville
A long Boston Mountains loop to Huntsville via AR-16 and AR-23, passing the Pig Trail junction before returning on AR-74 through Wesley.
About Hunstville
The Huntsville route is a tour of the Boston Mountains, connecting Fayetteville with the small towns and headwaters country of Madison County.
Leaving town on AR-16, the route runs through the upper White River country via Elkins, Crosses and Combs to Brashears, passing the northern end of the Pig Trail Scenic Byway before continuing through St. Paul. AR-23 then turns north through the Madison County uplands to Huntsville.
AR-74 carries the return west through Wesley and back toward home. Stores make the loop workable year-round, though the long St. Paul-to-Huntsville stretch can drag in summer. Traffic matters here, so weekday mornings and weekends are best.
Notes
- Refueling: There are store stops in Elkins, Crosses, St. Paul, Huntsville and Wesley.
- Traffic: This route is best ridden in the morning or on a weekend as traffic volume can be higher when people are going to and from work.
