Eureka Springs
A big destination loop that circles Beaver Lake, reaches Eureka Springs, and returns to Fayetteville around the eastern side of the lake.
About Eureka Springs
The route spends much of the day well outside the core Fayetteville road network, passing through a mix of lake country, small communities and rolling Ozark terrain before reaching Eureka Springs. A brief pass through downtown provides the obvious midpoint landmark before the route turns south for the long ride home.
It is a memorable ride, but not a casual one. Distance, climbing and several stretches of busier road make good timing and conservative riding important.
Notes
- Refueling: There are multiple opportunities for food and water along the route, but the gaps are long enough that it is worth planning stops in advance.
- Eureka!: Downtown Eureka Springs makes a natural turnaround point and a good place to refuel before the return leg.
- Traffic: Several parts of the route use roads with faster or heavier vehicle traffic. An early start and avoiding peak traffic periods are strongly recommended.
