About Cincinnati

This far-west loop reaches AR 59, runs north through the community of Cincinnati and comes within about a mile of the Oklahoma border before returning through the Lake Wedington area.

The defining feature is a traverse over Sugartree Mountain along Gem Road. In the clockwise direction, the climb is only about half a mile long but averages 10.6%, making it one of the sharper punches in the western network. Ridden the other way, the climb is longer and slightly less steep overall, though it still ramps above 13%.

The route offers a long western excursion through open country with some beautifully quiet stretches.

Notes

  • Refueling: There are no stops on the core loop, so bring plenty of food and water.
  • Gem Road: The traverse over Sugartree Mountain is challenging in either direction, so bring your climbing legs.
  • Highway 59: Be extra cautious on the 5.5-mile stretch of Highway 59.
  • Hwys 244 & 16: Also use caution on the east-west stretch from 59 through Lake Wedington.
