About Battlefield Loop
Battlefield Loop is a compact circuit around Prairie Grove Battlefield that local riders often fold into longer rides through town.
The route climbs through Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, along quiet rural roads through exposed farmland. The open straights can be windy, while the park side adds the main elevation change.
It also has a little local race history, occasionally serving as an unofficial weeknight Worlds course for repeated laps. Either direction works, though clockwise sets up the more memorable uphill finish back at the park.
Notes
- Refueling: There's a gas station in Prairie Grove on Douglass/Pittman just south of the park.
- Direction: Either direction works, but clockwise gives you the uphill finish through Battlefield Park.
- Battlefield Park: The route passes through Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park, site of the Dec. 7, 1862 Battle of Prairie Grove.
